3D concrete printing is inspiring the construction industry – but cleaning remains a challenge.
At WALTER, we are collaborating on the "ConCIP" research project in partnership with TU Dresden, the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging, and ECT Kema GmbH to automate the cleaning of 3D printing heads.
Adhesions regularly disrupt the functionality of the system, and the necessary manual cleaning processes are time-consuming and costly for operators.
Our shared goal is to develop a fully automated "Cleaning-in-Place" (CIP) solution that efficiently and resource-efficiently removes concrete deposits from the printing head—without time-consuming setup work. The project also aims to integrate wastewater recycling directly into the process.
As a leading provider of specialized cleaning solutions for concrete plants, WALTER brings over 50 years of experience and expertise to the project. We are excited to once again be at the forefront of future-oriented innovations.
